Cancer to end life, service of heroic investigative Rottweiler

The owner of one of the only certified civilian cadaver dogs in the Bay State is accepting the morose task of counting down the days till his Rottweiler Bartl is put to sleep after the black and tan canine was diagnosed with lung cancer last Friday.

“This is going to be really hard. He’s just been a great dog. He will work through anything. Stated by owner Bob St. Martin of Middleboro, 50, a paramedic.

State police said in a statement yesterday that St. Martin and Bartl “have shown tremendous and selfless dedication to public service.”

The pair was dispatched up to a dozen times a year.

“We have traveled all over the country together,” stated St. Martin, noting the pair went to Mississippi after Hurriance Katrina.
